Musée d'Art Moderne
Kirchberg, Luxembourg, Completed 2006

113,000-square-foot art museum and cultural center incorporating the remains of a 17th-century fort. Major components include skylit exhibition spaces on upper level; exhibition space, winter garden and central recption hall on grade level; administrative offices, library, education center and 100-seat auditorium on first level underground; storage, conservation laboratories, support space below.
 

1700 K Street
Washington, D.C., Completed 2005

A commercial office building located on a prominent corner site fronting historic Farragut Square and K Street, a major commercial boulevard, in the central business district of Washington, D.C. The building program consists of approximately 365,000 RSF of "Class A" office space on eleven floors, above Ground Floor retail and restaurant space. Four levels of below-grade garage provide approximately 270 parking spaces.

A 48-story office tower with bowed floor plate occupying a full block near The Loop. The broad, curved tower is set back from its south property line, giving shape to a park edged by an arcade. The lobby borders the green space and shares the ground level with retail and parking. The lower eight floors of this highly secure tower have been designed to withstand blast impact. The building is the first office tower that meets Chicago’s stringent new energy code.

 

Center for Government and
International Studies
Harvard University

Cambridge, Mass., Completed 2005

Two five-story buildings located on either side of Cambridge Street. CGIS is home to faculty offices, classrooms, a library, a cafe and the Harvard-M.I.T. Data Center unifying the Government, Economics and other social science departments as well as housing the Center for Basic Research in Social Science.


         

Hyatt Center

A 48-story office tower with bowed floor plate occupying a full block near The Loop. The broad, curved tower is set back from its south property line, giving shape to a park edged by an arcade. The lobby borders the green space and shares the ground level with retail and parking. The lower eight floors of this highly secure tower have been designed to withstand blast impact. The building is the first office tower that meets Chicago’s stringent new energy code. Two below-grade levels contain truck docks and additional parking for 165 cars.

 

International Monetary Fund
Headquarters 2

Washington, D.C., Completed 2005

Headquarters for the International Monetary Fund on Pennsylvania Avenue. Twelve-storey office building with two levels of underground parking. Special spaces include meeting facility, lecture room, training rooms, cafeteria.

         

National Constitution Center
Philadelphia, Completed 2003

A nationally significant museum strategically located at the northern end of Independence Mall in Philadelphia, linking the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall; designed to both honor and explain the Constitution. Major components include 21,000 sq. ft. skylit lobby/public facilities, 25,000 sq. ft. exhibition areas, 14,000 sq. ft. Signers Hall, 380-seat theater, 190-seat auditorium, dining, museum shop, administration, outreach center, outdoor plaza and roof terrace, underground parking for 160 cars, bus facility, maintenance and support.

 

United States Courthouse
Hammond, Indiana, Completed 2002

Federal courthouse located in downtown Hammond housing the U.S. District Court. four-story limestone building, with vaulted public space, accommodates seven courtrooms, judges’ chambers and court support services.

         

ABN AMRO Bank Head Office
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Completed 1999

Headquarters for one of the world’s leading banks in a developing center of the EEC. Complex includes a 28-story office tower, seven-story Courtyard Building with ground floor Dealing Room and landscaped Garden Court, two-story Conference Center/ Auditorium, underground parking and a 16-story Expansion Building.

 

Buck Institute for Age Research
Marin County, California
Completed 1999

Phased three-story laboratory and administration complex for multi-disciplinary biomedical and psychosocial research; designed to enhance a hillside site while maximizing panoramic views of the countryside, San Francisco and the Bay beyond. Major components include an Education/Conference complex with 300-seat auditorium, clustered research modules connected by a glazed pedestrian arcade, future housing, and freestanding garage for 350 cars.

         

John Joseph Moakley United States
Courthouse and Harborpark

Boston, Completed 1998

Federal courthouse strategically located on Fan Pier in Boston Harbor, designed to provide advanced facilities for the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit while maximizing the public benefits of the waterfront site. Major components include 27 courtrooms, grand jury suite, jury assembly room, support facilities, offices, judges’ chambers, District Library, 108-foot-high skylit Rotunda, Great Hall shaped by a 372-foot long sloped glass conoid, public galleries, monumental art, dining, childcare, outdoor arcade and a 2.3-acre landscaped park.

 

American Association for the
Advancement of Science

Washington, D.C., Completed 1996

Twelve-story national headquarters building with three floors of tenant offices for science affiliates. The emblematic design, a pioneer in environmentally friendly architecture, employs advanced resource conservation at investment building cost. Major components include a science museum, teachers’ lab and bookstore on the ground floor, conference center, 180-seat auditorium, AAAS lounge and boardroom.

         

The Morton H. Meyerson
Symphony Center

Dallas, Completed 1989

2,200-seat world class concert hall on a three-acre site, designed as an anchor for the emerging Dallas Arts District. Public facilities include a 24,000 sq. ft. Grand Lobby, 180-seat restaurant and outdoor sculpture garden. Other major building components include a two-story musicians’ wing, four-story administration wing, and underground parking for 140 cars.

 

Johnson & Johnson
World Headquarters

New Brunswick, N.J., Completed 1983

Expandable headquarters facility on a landscaped 16-acre site, undertaken as part of a Master Plan to revitalize downtown New Brunswick. Complex includes a 15-story executive tower and a cluster of four-story linked modular office buildings, with dining facilities, television studio, health and fitness center, and parking.
